5 Suspects In Antam Gold Corruption Case Installed With Detector Bracelets

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has paired a detector bracelet on five suspects in the alleged corruption case of gold management weighing 109 tons at PT Antam for the period 2010 to 2022.

The Head of the AGO, Harli Siregar, said that the installation of the detector bracelets was to track their whereabouts. Because, the five of them are city prisoners.

"Yes, 5 suspects with city detainees were fitted or attached with a detector device bracelet," said Harli to VOI, Friday, July 19.

The detector bracelets were paired with the hands and feet of the five suspects. They include LE, DT, SJ, JT, and HKT

In addition, they must also undergo compulsory reporting. This is to ensure they do not run away.

However, there was no detail about the time from the suspect to report their whereabouts.

"They are also obliged to report," said Harli.

Meanwhile, they are undergoing city detention for health reasons. Meanwhile, two other suspects, namely SL and GAR, were placed in the Salemba State Detention Center at the Attorney General's Office.

In this case, they were charged with Article 2 Paragraph (1), Article 3 jo. Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

Previously, the AGO named 6 suspects who were former UBPPL GM PT Antam Tbk.

The details are kindergarten for the 2010-2011 period, HN for the 2011-2013 period, DM for the 2013-2017 period, AH for the 2017-2019 period, MAA for the 2019-2021 period and ID for the 2021-2022 period.

So far, the AGO has also confiscated the assets of the six suspects, namely gold weighing 109 tons.
