Azzahra And Joe Released To Paris 2024 Olympics
JAKARTA The General Chairperson of Indonesian Aquatics, Anindya Bakrie, has officially released swimmers Azzahra Permatahani and Joe Aditya to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The release took place at the Aryaduta Hotel, Semanggi, Jakarta, on Friday, July 19, 2024, at noon WIB. However, they and the new team will leave for France on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 09.00 WIB.
"Today I released two swimmers, Joe and Azzahra. Hopefully they can give the best results. Over the past 12 months they have been the swimmers with the best rankings chosen by World Aquatics," said Anindya.
The two of them departed accompanied by coach Albert C. Sutanto and Arif Purbo Warsono. They will depart from Soekarno-Hatta Airport using Qatar Airways.
At the 2024 Olympics, Joe Aditya will compete in the men's 100 meters butterfly. While Azzahra appeared in the women's 200 meters change style. They started competing on August 2, 2024.

"I am very happy to be able to take part in the first Olympics and hope to break the national record of 52.75 seconds. Please pray for everyone," said Joe.
On the other hand, Paris is the second Olympics for Azzahra. Previously, he was dusty at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which was postponed for a year due to the corona pandemic.
"I didn't expect to be able to enter the Olympics again and this is a matter of pride. For that, I will try to swim with the fastest time below two minutes 16 seconds," said Azzahra.
The two athletes had the opportunity to appear at the 2024 Paris Olympics through the Universality Places aka unqualified athletes.
This is a qualification system implemented by international sports federations by providing the National Olympic Committee (NOC) with the opportunity to propose one of the highest ranking male and female athletes to participate.
The Paris 2024 Olympics will officially open on July 26, 2024. In total, Indonesia has 29 athletes from 12 sports participating in Paris later.
