BI: The Work Of The Processing Industry In The Second Quarter Of 2024 Remains Strong
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) said the performance of the manufacturing industry in the second quarter of 2024 remained strong and was in the expansion phase, as reflected in the Prompt Manufacturing Index (PMI) BI in the second quarter of 2024 of 51.97 percent. "Based on the components forming PMI-BI, the majority of components are in the expansion phase with the highest index on the production volume, followed by the volume of finished goods inventory and the total volume of orders," said Head of the BI Communications Department Erwin Haryono in a press statement received in Semarang, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Friday 19 July.
Meanwhile, the speed component of input order receipts increased compared to the previous quarter.
Berdasarkan sub-lapangan usaha (Sub-LU), sebagian besar Sub-LU berada pada fase ekspansi dan menopang kinerja PMI-BI, dengan indeks tertinggi pada industri kulit, barang dari kulit dan alas kaki, diikuti industri pengolahan tembakau, serta industri mesin dan perlengkapan.Perkembangan PMI-BI tersebut sejalan dengan perkembangan kegiatan LU industri pengolahan hasil Survei Kegiatan Dunia Usaha (SKDU) Bank Indonesia yang berada pada fase ekspansi, dengan nilai Saldo Bersih Tertimbang (SBT) sebesar 1,65 persen.Pada triwulan III-2024, kinerja LU industri pengolahan diprakirakan kembali meningkat tercermin dari PMI-BI yang tercatat sebesar 54,18 persen.
