Mbak Ita Prevented From Going Abroad, KPK Now 'Obok-obok' Semarang City Disperkim Office

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continued their search at the Semarang City Housing and Settlement Areas (Disperkim) office.

KPK investigators walked from the eighth floor of the Moch Ichsan building accompanied by related officials, to the Disperkim office at the Semarang City Hall complex, at around 13.45 WIB, Thursday, July 18.

The Disperkim office is the location for the fourth search conducted by KPK investigators on the second day in the Semarang City Government.

The first location, the Social Service office, was continued to the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), and the third was the Semarang City Communications and Information Office (Diskominfo).

After coming from Diskominfo, KPK investigators together with a number of employees, including the Head of the Semarang City Diskominfo Sunarto, headed to the eighth floor of the Moch Ichsan building in the office complex for questioning.

The search was a continuation of the activities carried out by the KPK the day before in the Deputy Mayor and Regional Secretary rooms, as well as the Semarang City Goods/Services Procurement Agency.

In addition to the city hall complex, KPK officers were also reported to have searched the Semarang Mayor's official residence on Jalan Abdurrahman Saleh.

The KPK stated that the search was related to the handling of three cases of alleged corruption within the Semarang City Government.

The three cases of alleged corruption include the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government for 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants for incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities for 2023-2024.

KPK investigators have also named a number of parties as suspects in the case, but have not provided further information regarding the identities of the parties.

KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto said four people had been prevented from traveling abroad in connection with the investigation of the alleged corruption case.

The four people who were prohibited from traveling abroad, consisting of two people from state officials, namely the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita and her husband. Two other people are private parties.
