Inalum Encourages Acceleration Of National Aluminum Downstreaming
JAKARTA - PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum or Inalum (Persero) encourages the acceleration of national aluminum downstream after producing at least 215,130 tons aluminum throughout 2023. "The company has succeeded in maintaining production rates to increase the added value of Indonesia's mineral resources," said Corporate Secretary Inalum Mahyaruddin Ende in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 17. In the financial aspect, he continued, Inalum recorded a significant increase in performance in posting net profit growth beyond the target of the company's 2023 work plan and budget (RKAP).
"We are grateful that the performance of the 2023 financial year remains agile (twisted) on a positive trend, and we hope to be able to support the creation of better added value in Indonesia's mining industry through several ongoing corporate actions," he said. Inalum has also completed the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGST) in Sanur, Bali, Tuesday, July 16. There are several strategic projects and future corporate plans in the AGMS that Inalum has presented to increase national aluminum production capacity. In addition to the construction of Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, and the Upgrading of Tungku Reduction Technology project. Then optimization of Smelter Kuala Tanjung in North Sumatra which is targeted to increase production capacity by 2024-2025, and the Aluminum Remelt Diversification project of PT Indonesia Aluminum Alloy (IAA). "Inalum also focuses on providing additional energy by utilizing renewable energy as a step to increase aluminum production," he said.
