Challenge China's EV, Hyundai Releases Kona Electric At GIIAS 2024, Prices Start At IDR 400 Million
PT Hyundai Motor Indonesia (HMID) has officially sold all-new Kona Electric as its newest electric vehicle at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024 exhibition. This model is presented in five different variants in Indonesia.
Some of these variants are Style, Prime Standard Range, Prime Long Range, Signature Standard Range, and Signature Long Range.
This model is available in the exterior color options of Optic White Matte, Creamy White Pearl, Creamy White Pearl Two-tone, Titan Gray Metallic, Magnetic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Silver Metallic Two-tone, Dragon Red Pearl, Dragon Red Pearl Two-tone, and Midnight Black Pearl.
"This year we are making a new history by launching Kona Electric, the first electric vehicle to use a local battery," said HMID President Director Woojune Cha, at the launch at GIIAS 2024, ICE BSD, Tangerang.
The South Korean manufacturer also announced the price for this compact SUV at prices ranging from IDR 499 million to IDR 590 million on The Road DKI Jakarta.
In terms of appearance, the All-new KONA Electric carries futuristic and stylish designs that prioritize clean and aerodynamic profiles. The Pixelated Seamless Horizon Lamp that stretches across the front and back creates an iconic view of the all-new Kona Electric.
Then, twin headlamps with Full LED projector lights integrated in the front bumper and Seamless Horizon Lamp on the engine hood create eye-catching light highlights.
Wheel anchored in body shape that blends with the headlights and back gives a strong and dynamic impression. The firm diagonal parametric surface as well as the molding chrome satin that runs all the way to the beltline adds to the elegant impression on this car.
Not to forget, Active Air Flap integration in the front bumper is designed in such a way as to increase energy efficiency and provide the cooling needed for vehicle components.

All-new Kona Electric has supported the leading connectivity feature of Hyundai Bluelink which provides more convenience for users in enjoying their daily mobility experience. Users can also get the latest software version on this EV more practically through the over-the-air (OTA) update system.
According to the manufacturer, the latest Kona Electric has a range of more than 600 km in one charge capable of traveling from Jakarta to Yogyakarta.
