BSI Urges Customers To Beware Of Online Fraud Mode
PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) appealed to customers to remain alert to various modes of online fraud, along with the rampant fraud in lottery, prizes, and changes in service rates on behalf of the sharia bank.
"We urge customers to continue to be aware of online fraud, such as the mode of lottery fraud, prizes, or changes in service rates," said BSI Corporate Secretary Wisnu Sunandar in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 16.
Currently, hoax fraud is rife about information about Gebyar BSI, changes in service rates, and various links to WhatsApp fraud with APK and numbers on behalf of BSI.
Wisnu said that BSI continues to urge all customers to always maintain personal confidential data by not providing personal information to parties on behalf of the sharia bank.
He noted that customer transaction traffic was quite high in July-August. This is because there is a lot of need in the middle of the year regarding school fees, tax fees, and other routine costs. This moment is likely to be a gap for unscrupulous people to take the opportunity to commit crimes.
As a precautionary measure, all BSI customers are expected to regularly change the ATM, password, and OTP PIN codes. Customers are also reminded not to ever provide personal data or passwords to anyone, including BSI employees.
