SYL's Verdict Doesn't Affect Firli Bahuri's Case Even Though It's Mutual
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya stated that the verdict of guilt against Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL had no effect in handling cases of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities with the suspect Firli Bahuri. Although, the two cases intersect with each other.
"There is no (influential) at all," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Tuesday, July 16.
Berrisian kedua kasus karena SYL merupakan pengadun dalam dugaan tindak pidana pemerasan dengan tersangka Firli Bahuri.
Meanwhile, SYL was also involved in the extortion and acceptance of gratuities within the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). The former Minister of Agriculture had used the Ministry of Agriculture's money to hand it over to Firli Bahuri.
Returning to the handling of the Firli Bahuri case, it was stated that the Polda Metro Jaya was still completing the case files according to the research prosecutor's instructions.
However, regarding the plan to summon an examination of Firli Bahuri in handling the alleged new crime, Ade has not been able to confirm it.
"Everything is still ongoing. We will update Firli's summons schedule later, but what is clear is that everything is still ongoing," said Ade.
Previously, the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto, said that Firli Bahuri would be charged with 2 articles as well as a series of SYL extortion cases.

"Yesterday, article 36 was a bit behind, we focused yesterday on extortion and alleged bribery," said Karyoto.
