Golkar Leave The Decree Of The Governor For The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election To The DPP

JAKARTA - The Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Golkar Party Jakarta will continue to follow the decisions and steps taken by the Central Leadership Council (DPP) regarding the candidate for governor and deputy governor (readgub-readwagub) in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"The determination of regional head candidates and deputy regional heads in Jakarta is the authority of the Golkar DPP. My current task is to work and socialize with Jakarta residents until the time limit set by the DPP," said DPD Golkar Jakarta chairman Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, Sunday, July 15.

Zaki's name entered the stock exchange and received support from the Golkar wing organization, the Gotong Royong Family Society (MKGR) of Jakarta Province. Zaki and MKGR are currently continuing to socialize their candidacy in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Although the Golkar DPP has proposed other cadres such as the toll entrepreneur, Jusuf Hamka, as the governor's reading for Kaesang Pangarep in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election, Zaki remains focused on his original destination. The former Tangerang Regent for two periods (2013-2018 and 2018-2023) continues to campaign for himself as the Jakarta Governor's Governor.

Moreover, this campaign was an order from the DPP to him which was announced to the public on April 6, 2024.

"I am a candidate for governor. What was conveyed (Ketum Airlangga after meeting the chairman of PSI Kaesang) was the offer of a deputy governor candidate from Golkar. So, these are two different things," said Zaki.
