KPK Issues Prohibition For Employees Gambling Online And List Of Illegal Loans
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) issued a circular for its employees containing a ban on online gambling and borrowing money from illegal applications. This letter has been issued since last week.
"If I'm not mistaken, a signed circular has been issued," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted on Monday, July 15.
"Regarding the ban on online gambling and the prohibition of borrowing funds from illegal online loans to play gambling," he continued.
Tessa said the two prohibitions were in a circular. "In principle, the KPK supports that online gambling is a destructive act. So that KPK personnel are encouraged to be free from such activities," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.
Meanwhile, for eight employees who were caught playing online gambling, Tessa did not want to talk much about their fate. He said, the KPK Inspectorate was still investigating.
"We will tell you later when there is a result. So we wait together," he said.
As previously reported, KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata said the data on employees who played online gambling had been pocketed. Checks have been made and the results of 17 are only eight who are still working in their institutions.
"Regarding online gambling, yes, it is true that the leadership has received a report from the task force," Alexander Marwata told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 9.
"There were 17 employees but after being viewed in the personnel data, it turned out that there were only eight KPK employees, yes, eight people (involved, ed), nine of whom had already been checked at the staffing staff, not KPK employees," he continued.
