Zirkzee Hasn't Fasted Ten Hag, Manchester United Pursues Ivan Toney

JAKARTA Manchester United is one step away from inaugurating Joshua Zirkzee's arrival from Bologna. However, this is said to have not satisfied Erik ten Hag who asked the Red Devils to recruit Bentford striker, Ivan Toney.

Earlier this week MU reportedly reached an agreement to sign Zirkzee at a cost of 35 million. The 23-year-old striker is expected to undergo medical tests this week before signing a five-year contract with an additional 12-month option at Old Trafford.

However, Christian Falk of Bild as reported by sportsmole revealed that MU is still looking for additional strength in the front lines by directing views on Ivan Toney.

The report added that the 28-year-old is interested in moving to Old Trafford this summer and Brentford has been notified of the player's desire to join the Red Devils.

Toney, who played an important role as one of England's penalty shootout heroes in the Euro 2024 quarter-final win over Switzerland, has previously expressed his ambition to compete in clubs competing for the top domestic and European titles.

With less than a year's contract remaining, the England international is reportedly not interested in renewing his contract with The Bees, and his stance may force the club to consider selling him this summer rather than allowing him to leave for free next season.

Toney himself was reluctant to respond to rumors linking him to Manchester United. He prefers to focus with the England national team on facing the Euro 2024 final against Spain in the early hours of the morning WIB.

"I've been through it (transfer speculation) before. There's been a lot of talk about me going here, going there, and everywhere before in my career and I'm not letting outside noise bother me," he said.

Ivan Toney was out eight months last season due to a ban on playing in violations of betting regulations. However, he was able to show brilliant performance by scoring 20 goals in the Premier League for Brentford after returning to play.
