JAKARTA - Osing Traditional Tourism Village in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, deserves to be offered to foreign or foreign tourists, said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.

"I see this is part of our tourism product that can be offered to the world, hopefully we can offer this tourist village in Kemiren Village to the World Tourism Organization or UN Tourism," Sandiaga said, during a visit to the 2024 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) to the Osing Banyuwangi Traditional Tourism Village, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 13.

The Osing Traditional Village in Kemiren Village, Glagah District, was selected by the top 50 best tourist villages in the 2024 ADWI Kemenparekraf event.

Kemiren Village competes with 6,016 tourist villages in Indonesia, while Osing Tribe is a native of Banyuwangi, one of which has many residences in Kemiren Village. Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno visited the Osing Traditional House area, and was greeted by the Gandrung Dance.

Sandiaga also saw firsthand the activities of the community when holding a mattress mepe (dried) tradition, barong idem bumi to tumpeng sewu.

"Today I am very happy to have a visit to one of the 6,016 tourist villages throughout Indonesia. This is a very different experience and I can say, my experience is world class tourism," he also said.

The Osing Traditional Tourism Village, according to Sandiaga, is a complete destination and has natural beauty, charming arts, culture that has been maintained for generations.

"I congratulate you and I declare Osing Traditional Tourism Village as the best tourist village in Indonesia in 2024," he said again.

Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani stated that the district government continues to support the development of villages in Banyuwangi, in accordance with their potential.

According to him, not all villages can be developed into tourist villages, but must be adjusted to their potential.

"Like the Kemiren Village, it is rich in culture and tradition, so this is what we encourage through various activities that are routinely held at the Banyuwangi Festival. Starting from the Ten Ewu Ngopi agenda, Tumpeng Sewu, to the Ider Bumi Barong. This is solely so that the residents' economy will be more stretched," said Regent Ipuk.

Kemiren Village is included in the top 50 tourist villages of ADWI 2024, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is expected to encourage other tourist villages in Banyuwangi to continue to clean up.
