Riau Police Chief Ultimatum Takes Firm Action Against Drug Dealers

JAKARTA - Riau Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal gave an ultimatum to all parties who dared to distribute narcotics in the Riau region to be dealt with firmly.

He made this statement when he destroyed kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 34,000 ecstasy pills which were the result of disclosures over the past two months.

"Drug traffickers do not have room in Riau. I have ordered the Director of Drugs and the Chief of Police to take firm action," Iqbal told reporters quoted on Saturday, July 13.

According to him, if the drug dealers are still determined to act, even fight when they are secured, then their staff is ordered not to hesitate to take decisive measures.

Regarding the results of the disclosure of the May-June 2024 period, the piknya confiscated 25.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 34,250 ecstasy pills, 3 kilograms of dried marijuana and 70,000 happy five pills. Then, 25 suspects were arrested, of which 11 were international networks.

"The operation, which was carried out for two months, succeeded in uncovering international drug networks and arresting 25 suspects. 11 suspects are international networks," said Iqbal.

Ditambahkan Direktur Narkoba Polda Riau Kombes Manang Soebeti, dari jumlah itu ada 17 tersangka ditangkap tim Direktorat Narkoba Polda Riau. Sedangkan 8 lainnya catch Polres Bengkalis.

"A total of 17 suspects were arrested by the Riau Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate. Then for the other 8 suspects were arrested by the Bengkalis Police," said Manang.
