PSI: There Is No Agreement With The Kaesang-Jusuf Hamka Duet With Golkar
JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) DPP, Sigit Widodo, emphasized that there had been no agreement between PSI and Golkar regarding the Jakarta gubernatorial election at a meeting at the banyan headquarters a few days ago. Especially regarding the plan to bring the Kaesang Pangarep-Jusuf Hamka pair. Sigit explained that the offer of Jusuf Hamka's name to become a cawagub was solely a proposal from the Golkar Party.
"During the PSI and Golkar Party meeting yesterday, there was no agreement to jointly carry Mas Kaesang and Pak Jusuf Hamka," Sigit told reporters, Saturday, July 13.
"The idea was conveyed by Golkar in the meeting, but there was no agreement regarding the proposal," he continued. Sigit also said that PSI did not want to rush to make a decision about the Kaesang-Jusuf Hamka duet. According to Sigit, the general chairman has not decided to run in the 2024 Pilkada. "Until now, Mas Kaesang has not made a decision regarding the plan to advance in the regional election. So PSI will not rush and will pay close attention to the political situation and hear the voices of the public regarding this matter," he said.

It is known that the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, offered Yusuf Hamka alias Babah Alun as Kaesang's partner if President Joko Widodo's youngest son ran in the upcoming Jakarta gubernatorial election.
"Then the following is of course the news about how Mr. Kaesang as the chairman of PSI wants to be pushed. Earlier we exchanged ideas in a wider way, the conclusion is that there is still time to decide that there are still two months but if that opportunity exists and Mr. Kaesang is ready to run, the Golkar Party will support it," said Airlangga after a meeting with the PSI Ketum at the Golkar DPP office, Thursday, July 11. According to Airlangga, Jakarta is one of the areas full of challenges, especially infrastructure. So Golkar offered the name Yusuf Hamka alias Babah Alun to overcome the problem.
"Well, to support Mas Ketum, Mas Kaesang, if he chose Jakarta, I would prepare Golkar Party cadres who have been poor across the infrastructure world, namely Babah Alun," said Airlangga.
