Wuling Shows Starlight S SUV In China, Here's The Form
JAKARTA - SAIC GM Wuling (SGMW) unveils the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) Starlight S in China which is present in purely electric and plug in hybrid variants, its official launch is scheduled for August 2024. Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Friday, July 12, the Wuling Starlight S is based on the design language of Star Wing Aesthetics. The front adopts a narrow split light group with the shape '7'. Meanwhile, the back is equipped with a number 7 LED light, as well as a high-mounted brake light to increase the sporty impression. For the color selection, it is available starting from Star White, Interstellar Blue, Star Gray, and Star Gold. In more detail, this car has a 4,745 mm panajang, a width of 1,890 mm, a height of 1,680 mm with a wheel axis distance of 2,800 mm. This side profile of the car comes with a traditional door handle.
Entering the cabin, the overall layout is similar to that of the Wuling Starlight sedan with a control screen measuring 15.6 inches, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel and a dual crossbar multi-wheel steering wheel with a flat bottom. On the center console there are two cell phone storage compartments and a cupbed, as well as a small number of physical buttons maintained. Other configurations include hooks throughout the interior, glasses storage boxes, additional storage rooms under the center console, and backhands with a cup holder. In terms of power, this plug-in hybrid variant is powered by a powertrain Lingxi SGMW consisting of a 1.5L natural aspirationed engine and a front electric motor, coupled with an iron phosphate lithium battery. The maximum engine power engine is 78 kW (105 hp). Two battery pack capacities will be offered: 9.5 kWh and 20.5 kWh, each of which corresponds to a pure electric range of 43 km and 90 km (assuming CLTC). In addition, a pure electric electric variant power train is equipped with a front electric motor measuring 150 kW (201 hp) and is expected to be combined with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, but the specific data has not been disclosed at this time.
Regarding the price, this car is estimated to be priced at 69,800 yuan or around Rp. 157 million.
