Selection Committee Receives 79 Applicants For KPK Leadership Candidates

The Selection Committee has received 79 registrants for leadership candidates and 64 supervisory boards of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). In addition to receiving registration, the Pansel also held public consultations.

"As of now, Thursday (11/7) there are 632 registered participants but 79 people who have submitted the document. For adults, 64 registrants have been registered," said Arif, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 12.

Arif said, the Pansel also held public consultations to capture the aspirations of activists and anti-corruption activists. This public consultation has been carried out in various cities such as Surabaya, Medan and Makassar.

Public consultations have also been carried out with representatives of the editor-in-chief of the mass media, academics, employers' associations, BUMN and others to capture aspirations.

"Hopefully with this public consultation we can absorb aspirations which can later become a consideration to select registrants and we work in accordance with the law," he said.

He also had high hopes for the public to provide input to the Pansel regarding the track records of the registrants.

Arief admitted that the Pansel had many instruments in the selection process, such as the PPATK analysis through transactions, compliance with taxes and others.

"We have instruments in the analysis process through PPATK and then taxes and others. The role of the community is very important, so we encourage community participation in providing assessments," he explained.
