Donald Trump To Talk At Bitcoin 2024 Conference On 27 July
JAKARTA - Former US president and current Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, will speak at the 2024 Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, on 27 July.
Trump, who will fight Democratic President Joe Biden in a US election in November, declared himself a cryptocurrency supporter at a fundraiser in San Francisco in June and criticized Democratic parliamentary efforts to regulate the sector.
The crypto industry is increasingly trying to influence US politicians amid intense scrutiny from regulators after bankruptcy at large crypto companies in 2022 that shocked investors and exposed fraud and abuses, and left millions of investors at large losses.
"Trump announced its support for the American Bitcoin industry in May 2024, advocating the financial freedom and growth of the US Bitcoin industry on the global stage," organizers said on the conference's website. They declared Trump the mainnote speaker of the event.
