Fugitive Convict In Luxury House Fraud Case In Semarang Surrenders

A fugitive in a criminal case of luxury housing fraud in Semarang City, Central Java, SN, surrendered to the local prosecutor's office after being on the wanted list (DPO) since October 2023.

Assistant for Intelligence at the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office, Sunarwan, said the convict in the fraud case voluntarily went to the prosecutor's office.

"I voluntarily surrender after learning information about the DPO that has been circulating," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 11.

According to him, SN must serve a sentence after the Supreme Court (MA) decides the cassation of the case.

He explained that the Supreme Court sentenced the defendant to 2 years in prison.

Previously, the Semarang City District Court acquitted the defendant in the fraud case.

The court also ordered that the defendant be released from custody.

"On the cassation decision, SN was executed at the Semarang Prison to serve his sentence," he said.

Previously, the defendant SN was tried for fraud in the sale of luxury houses in Semarang City which cost the victim around Rp. 1.7 billion.
