Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the Government was committed to resolving spatial disadvantages through synchronization activities, to provide legal certainty, increase the investment climate, and equal economic equality.

"This strong commitment was realized by the completion of a spatial mismatch of 19.97 million hectares, from 77.38 million hectares in 2019 which was successfully reduced to 57.41 million hectares in 2024," said Airlangga at the One Map Policy (OMP) Summit 2024 event, Thursday, July 11.

Airlangga said this was reflected in Presidential Regulation Number 9 of 2016 and was later updated to Presidential Regulation Number 23 of 2021, One Map Policy (OMP) has been running for eight years and has played an important role in creating one standard reference geoportal database that is unification, accurate, and accountable to support the acceleration of national development implementation.

Meanwhile, the One Map Policy covers four major stages of activities, namely compilation, integration, synchronization, and sharing activities using geospatial data and information.

Airlangga conveyed that with the strategic value and benefits of the One Map Policy, White Paper One Map Policy Beyond 2024 is currently being prepared which contains a recommendation for the sustainability of the implementation of the One Map Policy after 2024, including strengthening the legal basis for implementing the One Map Policy, realizing and updating the thematic map.

Then other recommendation proposals, namely, large-scale basic maps, completion of mismatch in the use of space, improvement of technology and Geoportal infrastructure, One Map Policy, increasing the availability and capacity of Geospatial Human Resources, as well as strengthening, collaboration and optimizing the budget.

The Geoportal Policy One Map is used for Sharing activities Using Geospatial Data and Information, which have been widely utilized by K/L and the local government, including for improving the quality of the Spatial Planning, accelerating the affirmation of provincial and district/city administrative boundaries, including improving licensing governance and land overlap completion efforts, "explained Airlangga.

Airlangga said that the spatial planning map and the forest area map had been overlapped with a mining business permit map so that there was a mismatch of permits. Therefore, it is necessary to harmonize various policies to solve the problem of overlapping land in Indonesia.

"It is necessary to harmonize various policies, including from PP 43 which is a derivative of the Job Creation Law. Therefore, several recommendations have been submitted, and we will submit these recommendations to the President next week," he said.

Several ministers were also present at the One Map Policy Map or One Map Policy Summit 2024 National Working Meeting, namely Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of ATR/BPN Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya, Chief of Presidential Staff of the Republic of Indonesia, General TNI (Ret.) Moeldoko, and Head of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) Muh. Aris Marfai, and Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Nurul Ghufron.

The implementation of One Map Policy involves 24 Ministries/Institutions and 34 Provinces and includes 158 Thematic Maps which include Geological Thematic Information (IGT) Spatial Planning, Status, Potential, Economy, Finance, Disaster, Land Licensing, and Maritime Affairs.
