Surge Inaugurates Cooperation With NTT E-Asia, Accelerates Internet Infrastructure Expansion To 25 Million Houses

JAKARTA - PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk or Surge (WIFI) officially signed a Consultation Services Cooperation Contract related to Fiber To The Home (FTTH) with NTT e-Asia Corporation. NTT e-Asia Corporation is a subsidiary of the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) Group, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world based in Japan.

NTT e-Asia Corporation focuses on providing IT services and solutions, taking advantage of the widespread NTT experience and resources in the field of telecommunications and information technology. This collaboration was signed by the President Director of Surge, Yune Margatmo and the Representative Director of NTT e-Asia Corporation, Mr. Yasuyuki Nagae.

Currently Surge has operated 7,000 km of large-capacity fiber optic backbone infrastructure along the train line, gas pipeline, and other lines on the island of Java. The Company has also invested in the provision of large-capacity bandwidth of up to 64,000 Gbps.

And in supporting Cloud Computing activities going forward, the Company has also built and operated 58 Edge Data Centers (EDCs) spread across various cities in Java, which can still be upgraded to 592 locations on the island of Java. Currently, the Company's Edge Data Center has also been used by Cloud Providers for Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions.

The company's entire digital ecosystem that supports each other is expected to provide fast and affordable internet for 25 million households on the island of Java which can have an impact on the development of the digital economy going forward.

The Company has completed the first phase of building 200 Thousand homepasses for local ISP (Internet Service Provider). The Company is currently also finalizing cooperation with operators in building 1 million fixed internet connection homepasses (Fixed Broadband). In collaboration with NTT e-Asia Corporation, it is an important milestone for Surge in strengthening and expanding its infrastructure network in all regions which has a positive impact on the Company's fundamental performance going forward.
