PIS AP Signs Collaboration With The Singapore Maritime Foundation
JAKARTA - Pertamina International Shipping Asia Pacific (PIS AP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in collaboration with the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF), a development and promotional institution for the Singapore maritime industry.
Managing Director of PIS AP Muhamad Resa in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 8, said the collaboration was PIS' effort as a talent hub that connects tested and trained maritime talents according to industrial needs in Indonesia to the global.
In the memorandum of understanding, PIS AP is committed to connecting prospective sailors to be closer to the industry.
The manifestations of PIS' contribution to the cooperation include support for scholarship programs, internships, and competitions.
On the other hand, SMF will play a role in supporting from the secretariat aspect and marketing programs to talent pools.
"PIS AP is proud to be collaborating with SMF in realizing our commitment to creating the talent pool that the industry needs and helping PIS prepare globally scale maritime talent," said Resa, who signed a memorandum of understanding at the PIS AP Office in Singapore, quoted from Antara, on Thursday, July 4.
SMF, which is a liaison between the public and private sectors of Singapore, drained and pioneered a number of HR development programs under the umbrella of MaritimeONE.
The collaboration with PIS is expected to deepen the development of maritime human resources needed by the industry.
"I warmly welcome PIS AP as a partner in a joint mission to build quality human resources in the maritime industry, especially in preparing the workforce to deal with the ongoing transformation," said SMF Chairman Hor Weng Yew, who was also present at the signing of the MoU.
PIS CEO Yoki Firnandi also appreciated the cooperation which is an important step for PIS in showing PIS's capacity as a global player in the maritime industry, especially in the maritime talent hub.

The development of qualified human resources to meet industrial needs is one of the company's priorities.
