JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman said through collaboration with various parties, one of which is the Navy (AL), is the key to anticipating the occurrence of a food crisis. "The condition of the world food and energy sector is experiencing a crisis, there are 10 countries that are experiencing hunger and 50 countries are threatened with hunger. He said that in the January-February period, Indonesia had experienced a food deficit due to several factors, such as the El Nino climate phenomenon, a decrease in fertilizers of up to 50 percent, and policies that needed to be refined. All have been handled by changing fertilizer policies and several other policies. "So we must anticipate this food crisis so that there is no food shortage. One of the keys to achieving this is to establish collaboration with one of the Indonesian Navy," he said. He also explained that food is a strategic sector and has a fairly broad impact if it is not handled properly, so it is necessary to help all parties to continue to maintain food. "This collaboration has also been instructed by the President, when Indonesia experiences an extreme climate then the TNI, Polri and all must go down collaborating with the relevant ministries to overcome, one of which is about this food," he said. According to him, with the collaboration between which his party has accelerated to mitigate the risk of food shortage in various regions.
