JAKARTA The injury from rock climbing athlete Rajiah Sallsabillah has not shown any signs of improving at all ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, which is only a matter of days.

Injuries to hernia nuclei pulposus (HNP) or nerves have been pinched in the spine of the dolphin since 2022 and until now the athlete is still feeling pain.

"However, the match is still enthusiastic. It must be even stronger. There are doctors from the team. So far we have always consulted," said the athlete who is familiarly called If that.

The injury resulted in the management of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) allocating an official accreditation to doctors. The doctor will have a special task to assist if in Paris.

FPTI has so far only tried in such a way that if they feel they are not too sick during training or racing. The reason is, other actions such as surgery or treatment cannot be done.

The federation is concerned that if the athlete is operated, the time needed for recovery is not possible. Meanwhile, taking drugs can have an impact on failing a doping test.

Yenny Wahid, Chairman of the FPTI, said that the pain actually shows the level of professionalism of a person If. Even though there is pain, the athlete's mental condition to struggle is extraordinary.

"That is one of the criteria for the world's elite athletes. He shows that he deserves to be at that level because he is mentally resilient, not just physical," said the daughter of former president Abdurrahman Wahid.
