Three Sports Become Indonesia's Gold Medal Target At The 2024 Olympics

JAKARTA Three sports (sports) are featured in Indonesia to get a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics which will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

The three sports were revealed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, when inaugurating the Indonesian contingent at Wisma Kemenpora, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, afternoon WIB.

"We hope a lot of gold from badminton for sure. If you look at the qualifications, rock climbing and weightlifting, maybe it's sports that calculated have great potential to get medals," said Dito.

A total of 29 athletes from 12 sports will appear in Paris later. This number is the largest for Indonesia in the last 20 years.

The other eight sports that come to Paris are archery, judo, surfing, swimming, athletics, bicycle racing, attracting, rowing, and gymnastics.

If the three mainstay sports can get gold, Indonesia will make history for the first time to win more than two gold medals during their participation in the Olympics.

"Obviously we always hope to have a better rating and medal than before," said Dito.

The big Indonesian contingent is scheduled to leave for France on July 13, 2024, while the last one to follow is two swimming athletes on July 22, 2024.
