SKK Migas: Three Pertamina Hulu Projects Mahakam Support National Oil And Gas Production Targets
JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) revealed three Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) projects of PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam or PHM, namely the Artificial Lift Project and the Peciko 8A & 8B Project in order to support the national oil and gas production target.
Deputy Head of SKK Migas Shinta Damayanti said the inauguration of these three projects was an achievement and showed that the national upstream oil and gas industry in the midst of tough challenges in 2024, was still moving and did not stop. The inauguration of these three projects is clear evidence of efforts by the upstream oil and gas industry, both SKK Migas, KKKS and other supporting efforts to issue all power and efforts to maintain national production.
These projects will contribute to increasing gas production capacity by 36 MMSCFD, oil and condesics by 16,000 BOPD. The production peak expected from the three projects is 11.9 MMSCFD and oil and condensates by 2025 BOPD," said Shinta in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 9.
PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), with the support of SKK Migas and PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) as the parent company, inaugurated the Artificial Lift (Navy) and Peciko 8A & 8B Project Project Projects. The inauguration of these three projects was carried out at the PHM Balikpapan Base Office on Monday (8/7) which was led directly by Deputy Head of SKK Migas Shinta Damayanti.
The Artificial Lift (Navy) is a Compressor Lift Gas installation project at the Bekapai BA EXisting platform with gas-lifts that are injected into wells at BG and BL Aircraft EXisting platforms. Gas-lift injection into wells at the Bekapai EXisting platform, as well as marking the first gas-in or onstream stage on May 24, 2024. After undergoing a trial operation for 72 hours non-stop, the AL Airlines Project is declared complete and ready to fully operate on June 2, 2024. Currently, the production gain that has been produced from the installation of the Artificial Lift Gas is around 2,500 BOPD.
Meanwhile, the Peciko 8A SWPG Debottletracking project through the installation of Booster Compressor Package, Liquid Transfer Pump, and Diesel Engine Generators is a pilot project which is also PHM's effort to produce oil and gas in LLP (Low Low Pressure) mode at the existing SWPG platform. Currently, the production gain obtained is 6 MMSCFD and is expected to increase to 8 MMSCFD.

With the completion of these three projects, until July 2024, there are a total of 8 projects that have been onstream from the target of 15 projects that will be onstream in 2024. SKK Migas welcomes the KKKS' efforts to make breakthroughs and increase efficiency in field development.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PHM Setyo Sapto Edi said PHM is committed to continuing to carry out safe, effective, superior and environmentally friendly upstream oil and gas operations so that Mahakam's WK (Work Area) can produce oil and gas in a sustainable manner and contribute significantly to additional reserves and achieving the national oil and gas production target.
