Liga 1 2024/2025 Use VAR, Only Licensed Referees Can Become Operators
JAKARTA - Liga 1 2024/2025 will implement the use of a video assistant referee (VAR) in the new season which will start on August 9, 2024.
As a serious step for PSSI in implementing VAR, they will involve quality people.
PSSI will only summon referees who have a VAR license for its operation. To get this standard, PSSI will also conduct special training to the referee on duty in order to obtain a special license for VAR operation.

This was conveyed directly by the Head of the Indonesian Referee Department, forced Singh, during a joint media workshop at the GBK Arena on Monday, July 8, 2024.
"Later, those who can be appointed as VAR referees (in Liga 1 2024/2025) will be referees who have a VAR license," said forced Singh.
"Wasits that do not have a VAR license cannot hold (operating) VAR," he said again.
Liga 1 2024/2025 will start using VAR technology in every match. This was confirmed by PSSI after holding a series of trials of using VAR since 2023.
VAR technology has also been used in the 2023/2024 League 1 Championship Series. The inaugural match that officially used VAR at that time was a match between Persib Bandung and Bali United.
