Significant Update Of Apple Watch Series 10 And Ultra 3 Expected To Appear This Fall

Apple is rumored to be introducing significant updates to the Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 3 this fall. Recent information suggests that the two models will debut within two months at Apple's fall event, along with a highly anticipated launch for the iPhone 16 series.

According to a Bloomberg report, the Apple Watch Series 10 will come with a new variant offering a larger screen and thinner design. This will provide options for customers who want a 49mm Apple Watch without having to choose a larger Ultra line. In addition, this new model will also reportedly include a new chipset of the S series.

Previously, the Apple Watch Series 10 was expected to introduce a new magnetic band attachment mechanism. However, this change does not appear to be included in this generation, and it is still unknown whether this plan was delayed or canceled completely.

The new chip, most likely S10, will be used on the Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 3. While this chip may not feature artificial intelligence (AI) on Apple's smartwatches, it will prepare the basis for some AI features in the future.

In terms of health monitoring, Apple reportedly hopes to introduce blood pressure monitoring features and sleep apnea this year. However, it appears the company is not satisfied with the test results and may delay the launch of these features.

In addition to these two flagship models, Apple is also likely to launch the Apple Watch SE 3 with plastic material targeting customers with a limited budget.

Apple's upcoming fall event is expected to be an important moment for Apple fans, with the launch of new products expected to provide a significant improvement in technology and design.

Plastic Casing

Meanwhile, Apple Watch SE 3, may replace aluminum casings with cheaper plastic casings, a move that could make this smart budget watch from Apple more affordable. Thus, Apple may be able to attract the attention of consumers who are aware of the budget, who otherwise will choose the cheaper Samsung Galaxy Watch FE.

A few years ago, Apple tried to attract customers with a limited budget by releasing a plastic iPhone 5c. The product failed completely, prompting Apple to rethink its strategy. Then, Apple began releasing a labeled SE product that offers older technology but with a good quality build. Despite the failure, Apple seems to reconsider the use of plastic material for the upcoming Apple Watch SE 3.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple is looking for ways to lower its SE smartwatch costs, which are currently more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE. To do so, the company can replace the aluminum casing Apple Watch SE 3 with rigid plastic.

As a reference, Apple Watch SE is currently selling for $249, while the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE sells for $199. So, customers who don't really care about the platform and look for affordable smartwatches will tend to choose the Galaxy Watch FE or one of the unofficial Apple Watch clones. With the possibility of lowering prices to compete with Samsung, Apple could win some of these consumers.

Given that Apple made prototypes of various products but did not release most of them, it is possible that the Apple Watch plastic will never be released. The report simply states that the company has tested this material swap idea, and there appear to be no credible rumors leading to the mass production of the model.

Apple Watch SE 3 may launch during the company's fall event in two months. Until then, we will not know for sure what the next generation SE smartwatch will look like
