ICEYE Develops Security Satellite For Ukrainian Government

JAKARTA ICEYE, a microsatellite manufacturer from Finland, is working with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to develop remote sensing satellites. The satellite is needed for Ukraine's defense. The company says it will always support the Ukrainian Government's efforts to maintain territorial security since 2022. Therefore, they signed a recent memorandum of understanding. Through this collaboration, ICEYE will provide satellites that image the Ukrainian territory. The satellite will ensure Ukraine's safety from the conditions of armed aggression. Data from this satellite will not be shared with the countries or counter entities. ICEYE explains that it will also focus on developing remote sensing technology, data usage for enhanced security, and Ukraine's support for the space economy globally. Rafal Modrzewski, CEO and co-founder of ICEYE, said that they are keeping the satellite data they are operating for Ukraine as well as possible. They will prevent various service abuse efforts.

"We are proud of our efforts to provide objective and follow-up data as well as technology support for Ukraine. The use of innovative new technologies will continue to provide significant added value to the Ukrainian government," Rafal said. Although the name and details of the satellites are kept secret, ICEYE says that the satellites they develop and operate provide reliable data and observational resolutions. This satellite is capable of observing the Earth in various space weathers. The radar imaging satellite from ICEYE is capable of shaping high-resolution images during the day, at night, or when the Ukrainian region is covered with clouds. This satellite will collect data several times a day and the data will be used to make important decisions.
