Weather Monday 8 July, Most Major Cities In Indonesia Are Raining

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the majority of major cities in Indonesia will experience rain on Monday, July 8, 2024. On the official website of BMKG, light rain is predicted to fall in a number of areas such as Serang, Gorontalo, Bandung, Semarang, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, Tanjung Pinang, Lampung, Ternate, Manokwari, Mamuju, Makassar, Palembang, and Medan. Meanwhile, a number of areas such as Pontianak, Ambon, and Kendari are predicted to experience moderate rain. Rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in Jakarta, Jambi, Pangkal Pinang, and Manado. Cloudy weather is also reported to occur in areas such as Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Palangka Raya, Jayapura, and Padang.

As reported by ANTARA, the Deputy for Meteorology of BMKG Guswanto explained that the potential impact of disasters due to rain in a number of parts of Indonesia that are still high could occur, even though it has actually started entering the dry season.

"The potential for increased rain is triggered by the presence of several atmospheric dynamics that are still active in the territory of Indonesia, namely the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO) phenomenon, Rossby Kelvin equatorial waves, to the cyclonic circulation pattern and La Nina also further strengthen the potential for the formation of the rainy cloud," said Guswanto. The combination of the influence of these phenomena is predicted by the BMKG meteorological team to cause the potential for moderate-heavy rain, accompanied by lightning / strong winds.
