JAKARTA - The latest rumors around the iPhone 16 lineup indicate that the iPhone 16 Pro can get a new zoom camera. A recent report from Digitimes further corroborates the allegation that Apple is increasing its zoom capability in the next iPhone series.

According to the report, Apple has ordered a large amount to lens manufacturers Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical (GSEO), with the aim of expanding the use of periscope lenses in the upcoming iPhone lineup.

Having a 5x zoom lens is a feature usually provided for the most expensive flagship in the company's portfolio, such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 8 Pro. Apple introduced a new 5x tetraprism zoom lens exclusively on the iPhone 15 Pro Max last year, while the smaller iPhone 15 Pro was limited to 3x zoom lenses.

However, with the iPhone 16 series, this difference is expected to be eliminated, because both the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max can be equipped with a sophisticated 5x tetraprism lens.

Furthermore, a recent leak also suggested that the four models of this year's iPhone 16 will be equipped with the same generation of Apple A18 chips. The iPhone 16 series is expected to debut around September this year.
