Bamus Betawi Proposes 6 Names To Be Nominated In The Jakarta Pilkada, Anyone?
JAKARTA - The 1982 Betawi Tribe Deliberative Body (Bamus) proposed five names to be nominated as candidates for governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada."The proposed names include Marullah Matali, Lutfi Hakim, Zainuddin, Dailami Firdaus and Moh. Ihsan. These names will be proposed to leaders of political parties," said the General Chairperson of the 1982 Betawi Tribe Bamus Zainuddin in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, July 7.Marullah Matali is the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for Culture and Tourism, Lutfi Hakim is the General Chair of FBR, Dailami Firdaus is a member of the DPD RI Jakarta electoral district, Moch Ihsan is the General Chair of FORKABI and Zainuddin is the General Chairperson of the 1982 Betawi Tribe Bamus.According to him, the proposal for these names was born from the results of consolidation with elders and traditional leaders, in order to meet the success of the 2024 Pilkada.They stressed that the proposal should be seen, for the sustainability of the Betawi civilization, which has been hereditary for 3,000 years.Zainuddin said that the Betawi Tribe, which is one of the indigenous tribes of the archipelago, has a total of around 7 million people, is now in sixth place out of 1,340 tribes in Indonesia."In Jakarta itself, the Betawi tribe ranks second, with a total of about 3 million people or 27 percent of the total population of the capital," he said at a press conference with the theme "Betawi Tribe Welcoming the Success of the 2024 Pilkada in Jakarta"In the Indonesian democratic system, he said, the vote of the Betawi tribe has a very decisive role, in the presidential election (pilpres), legislative elections (pileg), and regional head elections (pilkada)."This has become increasingly relevant, after the ratification of Law Number 2 of 2024 concerning Special Regions of Jakarta (DKJ), which emphasizes the position of the Betawi tribe as an Original Regional Son, and places Betawi culture as a priority, along with other tribes living in Jakarta," he explained.With this position, added Zainuddin, the Betawi tribe now has the right to get space, and direct involvement in the political and government spectrum."The spirit of Vox Betawi Vox Dei, No Betawi No Party (Betawi Is God's Voice, Without Betawi No 'Democracy' Party is the main call," he said.
