In Addition To Floods, Heavy Rain In Tangsel Also Collapses 6 Houses
TANGERANG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Tangerang City, Banten, reported that six housing units were damaged due to being hit by the roof of the Faradisa Islamic School school in Pamulang, Sunday, July 7, 2024.
There were no casualties in the incident, but a number of housing facilities were damaged, especially the roof.
"There were six houses of residents, but there were no casualties in the incident," said South Tangerang City BPBD Operations Control Center member Malik Kurniawan in Tangerang, Sunday, July 7.
He explained that the incident occurred on Jalan Gurame 3 No. 19 RT/RW 01/01, Bambu Apus Village, Pamulang. The entire roof of the graded school building was heavily damaged by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds some time ago.
"This is the impact of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, as a result, the roof of the school building is 29 meters long and 8.4 meters wide, heavily damaged," he explained.
He revealed that for the incident, there was one family of the victims of the damaged house who had fled to a safer place.
"There was one family head who fled," he said.
The South Tangerang City BPBD Task Force has evacuated materials and school buildings that hit a number of residents' houses.
In addition, his party has also distributed aid in the form of basic necessities and ready-to-eat food which is handed over directly to the victims.
"This morning we also distributed ready-to-eat food buildings to six affected families," he said.

Previously, as many as 673 families were affected by flooding in South Tangerang City, on Saturday night. The flood, which submerged with water levels reaching 80 centimeters, occurred due to heavy rains with a long duration that flushed the local area.
Based on data compiled by BNPB, at least seven urban villages were flooded, including Pamulang Barat Village, Rempoa Village, Keranggan Village, West Jurangmangu Village, Sawah Village, Jombang Village, and Jelungang Village.
