Denies Persecution, West Sumatra Police Chief Calls Wounds On Afif Maulana's Body Due To Jumping From Bridge

JAKARTA - West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Police Chief Inspector General Suharyono said the death of a junior high school student (SMP), Afif Maulana, died as a result of his actions that jumped from the Kuranji Bridge, Padang. This is reinforced by several statements from a number of witnesses to evidence.

"The strong suspicion of AM jumping. From the start we have stated testimonies, Evidence, expert statements and others," said Suharyono when confirmed on Sunday, July 7.

He explained that the wound suffered by the victim was broken ribs. This strengthens the evidence that the victim jumped from the Kuranji bridge whose height reaches 18 meters.

Therefore, Suharyono denied that Afif Maulana's body was injured due to acts of abuse by his members.

From the investigation of the Padang legal aid agency and the testimony of witnesses at the location, Afif and several of his colleagues were accused of a brawl and were later subjected to many acts of torture by members of the Sabhara Polda West Sumatra.
