The "E-sports" Competition Becomes A "Gamer" Community Forum In Banyuwangi

BANYUWANGI - The Banyuwangi Regency Government, East Java, accommodates the gamer community by holding E-sports competitions starting in the general category and student categories starting from 3-6 July 2024.

Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani in Banyuwangi, Saturday, said that Banyuwangi E-Sports Competition was held at Sun East Mall, Genteng District, and was attended by 41 teams from the general category and 17 teams of students.

"E-sports is an industry that is growing rapidly and has captivated millions of people around the world, and the gaming ecosystem offers promising potentials," he said.

In addition to professional electronic sports players, said Ipuk, there are also streamers, casters, brand ambassadors, game developers, and various other roles.

"For those who are usually mobile legends, they must know Eca Japasal, brand ambassador of one of the mobile legends teams. Or steamers, Winda Basudara, they are known to many people, and even appear on various platforms," he said.

Thus, according to Regent Ipuk, the profession in electronic sports has varied, and can be an opportunity for young gaming enthusiasts.

He also hopes that with this electronic sports competition Banyuwangi's children who are in e-sports can participate in international championships.

Regent Ipuk stated that e-sports is not only about competition but also promoting unity and inclusiveness.

"E-sports does not view ethnicity, language, or background, but unites young people through the same hobby to play games," he said.

Banyuwangi E-Sports Competition competes in popular mobile games, mobile legends, bang bang with a total prize of IDR 30 million.
