BPBD: 48 RTs In Jakarta Inundated After Heavy Rain
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that dozens of neighborhood units (RT) were inundated after heavy rains from morning to evening.
"BPBD noted that the current inundation has increased from 6 RTs to 48 RTs or 0.157 percent of the 30.772 RTs in the DKI Jakarta area," said the official statement from the Jakarta Provincial BPBD, Saturday, July 6.
It was stated that this inundation arose due to the increase in the status of a number of floodgates in Jakarta, such as Karet, Angke Hulu, Sunter Hulu, and Pulo Gadung to Alert 3 or Alert. This increase occurred at around 15.00 WIB.
Currently, BPBD Jakarta has mobilized its personnel to monitor inundation. The suction is also carried out so that this condition can be addressed immediately.
"And ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads. The puddle is targeted to recede in a short time," they said.
BPBD Jakarta then appealed to the public to be careful in the midst of uncertain weather like now. Everyone must be aware of the potential for puddles.
"In an emergency, immediately call phone number 112. This service is free and operates for 24 hours non-stop."
