NTT DATA Strengthens AI And 5G Technology At The 152nd Open Golf Championship
JAKARTA - NTT DATA, a leading digital business provider and IT service provider, introduced its latest innovation to The 152nd Open, an international golf championship that runs from July 14-21 at the Royal Troon, England.
NTT DATA said it wanted to provide a hands-on experience and engagement to fans, which made them feel like they were in a match atmosphere, wherever they were.
With this innovation, fans will get actual information in the form of live video views and advanced data on NTT DATA Wall, a large screen installed at the tournament location.
In addition, fans will also experience Digital Human GenAI technology, and interact with ShotView, a digital technology platform twin.
Lottie, Digital Human AI
Lottie, the digital human of NTT DATA, is the future of audiences and sports customer service, providing interaction and engagement through a mix of actual insights and updates from golf courses, statistical data, and deep knowledge of the rules and history of the sport.
Uni's year, Lottie's visual representation has been improved, ensuring more human-like motions and physically accurate avatars, increasing interaction realism.
5G Supported Experience
The foundations of all these technologies are Private 5G networks that will provide high bandwidth and reliability, bring cloud to edge, for applications that require very low-latency computing, storage, and networks.

ShotView NTT DATA will be able to track the location of the ball, player performance, and field conditions, as well as provide an accurate representation of the Royal Troon golf course. Digital twin technology can record the position of the ball up to half the width of the golf ball.
All of this will provide "player perspectives" on strategies and decisions made during each stage of the championship, allowing fans, commentators and analysts to see through the eyes of professionals.
