Can Control Settings, Apple Will Add Head Movement In Vision Pro
JAKARTA Some time ago, Apple announced that it would add head movements in the AirPods Pro firmware update. Apparently, this head gesture will also be added to Vision Pro. Based on a 9to5mac report, Apple is applying for a patent for a new system in their spatial computer technology. The system is being submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). From the proposed patent, it is noted that Vision Pro users could control the device's setup by simply changing the position of their head. For example, the head playback will change the brightness level in the device. "Based on the change in the head position, the scalar quantity of device settings and the indicator position on the slider can be updated. The direction of motion can be in accordance with the direction of the indicator's motion on the slider," Apple wrote in the patent they submitted. Although it is not explicitly explained that this system was created for Vision Pro, Apple said that this technology would be added to the device installed in the head. Based on the description, this patent is unlikely to refer to AirPods.

Please note that Apple often applies for patents and not all of its technology is patented. However, if this head movement is successfully added to Vision Pro, users will be more comfortable in controlling their devices. This head movement may be almost the same as the technology in AirPods. After iOS 18 was widely launched, some compatible devices could answer and refuse calls quickly by shaking their heads.
