Four Fertilizer Factory Workers In Karawang Died Allegedly Gas Toxic
Four fertilizer factory workers from PT Multidaya Putra Sejahtera in Karyasari Village, Rengasdengklok District, Karawang Regency, West Java died allegedly due to gas poisoning at the liquid fertilizer factory.
One of the witnesses at the scene, Wawan, said the incident occurred when the three factory workers cleaned the toren of liquid waste used for fertilizer production at the factory.
As they carried out the cleaning, they suddenly experienced shortness of breath and tried to be helped by two of their fellow workers.
However, they were not helped, so the three people who cleaned the toren died. Another death toll was one worker who tried to help, and another person who tried to help was in critical condition.
Those who died were factory workers, respectively named Asep Kohar (51), Marsidi (34), Nana Mulyana (42) and Husni Saepul (44). They and another critically ill were then taken to the Proclamation Hospital, Rengasdengklok.
The police from the Rengasdengklok Police, through their Public Relations, Ipda Suprianto, said that the victim who died was a factory worker.
The police are still conducting investigations and conducting related examinations including a number of witnesses.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Karawang Aep Syaepuloh, who received the news, immediately came to the scene, conducted a survey around the factory site and visited the victim's house.
"I have visited the factory and met the director, asking about the incident," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 2.
The Regent said that based on the statement of the factory director, it was known that four people died while cleaning the fertilizer waste toren.
"So from his statement, while cleaning, they suddenly limped and experienced shortness of breath, causing them to die at the location," he said.
For this incident, the regent requested that the relevant agencies check the factory licensing documents.
