They Say Rent, But Cars Are Mortgaged, Police In Banyumas Arrested

PURWOKERTO - A policeman with the initials EHS (27) was arrested by the East Purwokerto Police Team. These police officers embezzled the rental car.

"This case was revealed thanks to the victim's report on behalf of Suyono (58), a resident of Purwokerto Lor Village, East Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency," said Banyumas Police Chief Kombes M Firma L Hakim in Purwokerto, Banyumas, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 17.

According to the Police Chief, the case started when EHS came to the victim's house on March 10. At that time the perpetrator rented a car for two days to attend the celebration.

Therefore, the victim handed over the black Avanza car ignition key plate number B-1524-PGY to EHS, who is an active member of the National Police and resides in Sumampir Village, North Purwokerto District.

However, after two days, the car was not returned, so the victim called EHS and asked for an additional two days of rental time.

"After two days, the car was not returned," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Berry.

Finally, the victim on Monday, March 15 evening received information from the witness on behalf of Darsono about the car rented by EHS having been pawned in the Kebumen area.

According to him, Darsono knew about the act because EHS had told him about Suyono's rental car.

"Feeling disrespected and aggrieved, the victim immediately reported the EHS to the East Purwokerto Police for further action. On the basis of this report, the officers of the East Purwokerto Police Criminal Unit immediately secured EHS for further investigation," said Commissioner Berry. 378 Jo.
