Remembering Petuah Soekarno 'Later We Will Fight Your Own Nation', Ganjar: Today It Happened

JAKARTA - Former Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo said the toughest struggle was against the nation itself.

He said this statement was in accordance with the lectures of the First President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno or Bung Karno, causing a fire of enthusiasm for him.

This statement was made by Ganjar after attending Soekarno Run at the Senayan East Parking, Gelora Bung Karno today, Sunday, June 30.

This activity was carried out by the PDI-P (PDIP) to close the 2024 Bung Karno Month commemoration which is routinely held every year.

What is the fire? The fire of struggle that never gives up, never being afraid. If in the past after fighting the Dutch, Soekarno said 'later you will fight your own nation', I think today happened,' Ganjar told reporters after running.

"That's why let's straighten out something that is twisted and of course brings the spirit that Soekarno expressed, yes," continued the former presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

Ganjar also said that Soekarno Run's activities had taught a lesson. Moreover, he ran later but could get to the finish line or finish.

So, he hopes that young people can also learn the same lessons as him. Moreover, Ganjar thinks Bung Karno is like running while fighting.

In addition, Bung Karno also never talked about the interests of his family when fighting. "He spoke about the fate of his nation and country, so young people, if we want to learn from Soekarno, the fire will be inherited, not the ashes," said Ganjar.

As previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said Soekarno Run participants who were held in East Parking Senayan, Jakarta on Sunday, June 30, reached thousands of people. Antuasiasme is so high to participate in these activities.

Initially only 2 thousand people were designed, but more than 9 thousand people registered. So we apologize to those who continue to register, please participate," Hasto told reporters, Saturday, June 29.

"But there are limitations, yes, in the facilities provided, but all do not reduce a spirit. Because this GBK was born from Bung Karno's leadership, and has now become an atmosphere of life for young people to propagate and make this place a source of spirit, sportsmanship and achievements for our young people who show Bung Karno's leadership which is very visionary by building this GBK," he continued.
