One Step Again Manchester United And Erik Ten Hag Agree On New Contract
JAKARTA - Manchester United are said to be one step away from reaching a new contract agreement with Erik ten Hag after talks that started last week yielded positive results.
Ten Hag's position was on the brink after MU struggled during the 2023-2024 season. Despite winning the FA Cup title and qualifying for the Europa League, finishing in eighth place in the Premier League standings is considered a shame for a club as big as the Red Devils.
After going through a series of evaluations, Manchester United's management under the leadership of Sir Jim Radcliffe decided to keep the Dutch coach facing the 2024-2025 season.
The 54-year-old coach's contract at Old Trafford is known to end next summer. However, neither MU nor Erik ten Hag's management are believed to agree to extend their cooperation.
The Sky Sports News report revealed that talks about the new deal are continuing to progress, and both parties are optimistic that an agreement will be reached in the near future. The Red Devils management argued that ten Hag was the ideal coach to lead the team despite difficulties during the 2023-2024 season.
Manchester United's management realizes that player injuries are a difficult factor for ten Hag to field his best team last season. Because of that, Sir Jim Radcliffe believes that it gives the former Dutch Ajax Amsterdam coach the opportunity to work in a new structure.
