Spaletti Admits The Italian National Team Played Too Slow When Donated By Switzerland
JAKARTA - The coach of the Italian national team, Luciano Spalletti said that his team lost tempo and was less sharp when they were beaten 2-0 by Switzerland in the last 16 of the 2024 European Cup (Euro). "The one who made the difference was the tempo (game), we were too slow than them (Switzers) in the first half. Even individually, there were differences in the movement and the fight for the ball," Spalletti said after the match, quoted from Antara, Sunday 30 June. Switzerland dominated the match and secured a 2-0 Swiss victory thanks to Remo Freuler's goal in the first half and Ruben Vargas, which occurred 27 seconds after the second half started. Spalletti said that the second goal immediately made the players' confidence fall, making their game less sharp.
Meanwhile, Italian national team captain and captain Gianluigi Donnarumma does not want to make excuses for this defeat.
