The Value Of Transactions In E-commerce In 2022 Is Predicted To Reach 65 Billion US Dollars
JAKARTA - The development of digital technology is indeed so fast, one of which can be seen from transactions in online shops or e-commerce. Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR-RI), Alimin Abdulah said that the electronic transactions in Indonesia reached USD 8 billion in 2017.
"However, it will swell to 55 billion - 65 billion US dollars in 2022", said Alimin in a discussion held by Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI Kominfo), Tuesday, March 16.
He added that this growth is a consequence of technological developments in the country. Not only parents but even children starting from elementary school level must also now be familiar with the use of technology.
"The use of the internet, the state facilitates, the community makes good use of it, they use this opportunity well", he said.
Of course, the use of technology must also be supported by a qualified infrastructure. Yuliandre Darwis, Chairperson of the Expert Council of the Indonesian Communication Scholars Association (ISKI) said that the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is building infrastructure and signal coverage in Indonesia which is extraordinary until 2022.

"This must be utilized properly, one of which is the maximum digital utilization. It would be useless if this technology could not be fully prepared. This is a big task for young people, to fill these spaces, not to become a consumer or they became connoisseurs, as if they were just watching", said Yuliandre.
