Acceleration Of The LNG Abadi Masela Project, SKK Migas Completes Land Acquisition
JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) held a strategic meeting with the Maluku Provincial Government (Pemprov) to discuss the latest developments and plans for developing the LNG Abadi Masela project.
This project is one of Indonesia's National Strategic Projects with a production capacity of 9.5 million metric tons per year (MTPA) LNG, 150 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of pipe gas, and around 35,000 barrels of condensate per day (BCPD) with an operational target in the fourth quarter of 2029.
Head of SKK Migas, Dwi Soetjipto, explained that his party is currently completing the process of AMDAL documents and land acquisition for the construction of Onshore LNG Plant on Tanimbar Island.
"We together with KKKS Inpex Masela Ltd., as the operator of the Masela Project, would like to thank the Maluku Provincial Government for their ongoing support in supporting the Eternal project. In this meeting, we hope to find a solution to the various challenges that are being faced in the field," he said.
Dwi said that currently his party is waiting for a consideration letter from the Governor of Maluku to release the forest area needed for operational facilities.
"We also expect support from the Governor in finalizing land ownership claims in forest areas. Hopefully with a quick finish, we can accelerate the development of the Masela Project," he added.
In this project, SKK Migas projects that it will involve up to 15,000 workers at the peak of the work, so adequate supporting infrastructure is needed.

"We also encourage Inpex to collaborate with regions in terms of empowering local workers from an early age. This is expected to provide significant economic benefits for the surrounding community," continued Dwi.
The Acting Governor of Maluku, Sadali Ie, expressed his appreciation for this meeting as proof of a joint commitment in efforts to accelerate the development of the Masela Project.
"We are ready to support all the authority we have to ensure the success of this project, which is expected to make a significant contribution to regional revenues and welfare of the Maluku people," said Sadali.
