Swiss Minister Of Manpower And Ambassador Discuss Extension Of Employment Cooperation
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah together with the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Olivier Zehnder met to discuss strengthening various aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the employment sector.
As for the meeting of the Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah and the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Olivier Zehnder was held at the Ministry of Manpower Office, Jakarta, last Thursday, June 27.
"In this meeting, we exchanged views and input regarding cooperation in the field of employment between the two countries that have been established so far," Ida said in an official statement.
Ida said Indonesia and Switzerland have cooperation in the employment sector, including through the MoU regarding Cooperation on Labour and Employment Issues which was signed on June 18, 2019, and the Agreement on Exchange of Young Professional (AYP) which was signed on November 30, 2021.
Furthermore, Ida said that the two MoUs were in principle already running, especially for the MoU regarding Cooperation on Labour and Employment Issues, it was implemented with the existence of a residual Joint Working Group (JWG).
Through the MoU regarding Cooperation on Labour and Employment Issues, three times the JWG has been carried out alternately between Indonesia and Switzerland. The 4th JWG will be held this year in Indonesia.
"Following up on this framework is quite concrete because it provides space for tripartite representatives to discuss and share information related to employment issues, making it easier for the Government to provide more comprehensive conclusions," he explained.

The two countries view that the MoU is very important for both countries, so it is hoped that the MoU can be updated soon considering that the MoU will end this year," he explained.
As for the AEYP agreement, it is part of the follow-up to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Indonesia and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). It's just that until now this collaboration still faces several challenges in its implementation.
"It is necessary to reduce the effectiveness of its implementation related to the implementation of the AEYP, because there is a great potential for young generation between Switzerland and Indonesia," he said.
