A 15-year-old Youth Viral Tortured At The Village Office, Tegal Sari Village Head Named A Suspect

MANDAILING NATAL - The Mandailing Natal Resort Police, North Sumatra, named the village head and secretary of Tegal Sari Village, Natal District, Mandailing Natal Regency, as suspects, on Thursday 27 June 2024.

Both are suspected of having tortured a 15-year-old teenager accused of stealing cigarettes and money from a resident's house some time ago.

Now the village head and village secretary are in the detention cell of the Mandailing Natal Police Headquarters, North Sumatra.

After undergoing an examination for 1 x 24 hours, investigators from the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Mandailing Natal Police Criminal Investigation Unit have officially determined Rizal Effendi, who is none other than the head of Tegal Sari Village and Iman Saputra who is the secretary of Tegal Sari Village.

The determination of the suspect was carried out after the police conducted a case title and examined the two suspects. The two suspects were proven to have abused Fandi Irwan, the 15-year-old teenager.

In this case of persecution, Rizal Effendi is suspected of molesting the victim by torture by pressing the teenager's feet using a blue plastic chair, as in the torture video that had gone viral on social media. Meanwhile, Imam Saputra also abused the victim

Mandailing Natal Police Chief AKBP Arie Sofandi Paloh said his party was still conducting examinations of witnesses to find other perpetrators. A total of nine people have been questioned by the Mandailing Natal Police Satreskrim investigators.

"The village head and village secretary have become suspects. We will develop whether there is involvement of other parties," said Arie, Thursday.

For further investigation, Rizal Effendi and Imam Saputra have now been detained in the Mandailing Natal Police Headquarters detention cell. Both face a sentence of more than 5 years in prison.

It was reported that before, a 15-year-old teenager in Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra was tortured by a number of residents. In addition to being abused on the face, the teenager's thumbs up were crushed by a chair occupied by residents with their backs tied and forced to admit that they had stolen money and cigarettes from residents' homes.

In the video, a resident can be seen grabbing his hair while cursing at the victim. Even in the video, you can see the teenager's thumbs up on the chair occupied by the residents.

The 15-year-old was seen holding back the pain she was suffering from while asking for forgiveness so as not to be mistreated.

Ironically, the abuse of teenagers took place at the Tegal Sari Village Hall office, Natal District.
