KKP Targets Asset Transfer To Quarantine Agency To Be Completed Next July
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) targets the transfer of human resources (HR) to assets to the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin) to be completed in July 2024.
The number of human resources as many as 976 employees has been transferred to Barantin in January 2024.
Then, KKP has also reallocated a budget of IDR 172.74 billion to Barantin in the same month.
"And this asset is in the process of finalizing it for us to target BAST (Submission Report) to be completed in July, in which all UPT (Technical Implementation Units) have completed verification and validation in conjunction with a team from the Indonesian Quarantine Agency," said Head of the Supervision and Control Agency for Marine and Fishery Product Quality (BPPMHKP) Ishartini in the Hearing Meeting (RDP) for the Direction and Governance Policy of the Marine and Fishery Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency Commission IV of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, 27 June.
Ishartini ensured that all services to stakeholders would not be disrupted by the transition process.
"We will pay attention that all of these assets will not interfere with the aggregation processes, especially laboratory problems, both in the field of quality inspection and inspection institutions in the field of quality quarantine," he said.
For your information, the Indonesian Quarantine Agency was formed based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 45 of 2023 which is valid from July 20, 2023.
The regulation explains that the Indonesian Quarantine Agency is a government agency that carries out government duties in the fields of quarantine for animals, fish and plants.
The position is a government institution that is under and directly responsible to the president.
Meanwhile, the tasks that will be carried out are the formulation and determination of technical policies in the field of quarantine, implementation of technical policies in the field of quarantine, coordination of the implementation of tasks, guidance and administrative support to all organizational elements within the Indonesian Quarantine Agency and in terms of managing state property which is the responsibility of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency.

The organizational structure of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency consists of the Head, Main Secretariat, Deputy for Animal Quarantine, Deputy for Fish Quarantine and Deputy for Plant Quarantine.
So far, the authority related to quarantine is in each institution / ministry. However, after this regulation officially applies, all quarantine tasks and functions are integrated with the duties and functions of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency.
