Camila Cabello Reveals Advice From Taylor Swift During Their First Meeting

Camila Cabello has good memories of her first encounter with Taylor Swift. The two of them first met when they were both performers at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. The Cuban singer admitted to getting advice about writing songs from Swift.

For Cabello, writing your own song is never easy. While working on a new song for the album 'C,XOXO' which will be released on June 28, the 27-year-old singer admits that she has difficulty.

I was probably around 16 or 17 years old when I met one of the heroes of my songwriting Taylor Swift, recalls Camila Cabello, during a recent interview with Taylen Biggs.

"I saw him and Lorde sit down together. I was like, 'Oh my God, it's Taylor Swift. I have to meet the two of them, and I have to tell them I love them.' They are both very sweet, "he continued.

Cabello, who has long known that writing songs is not an easy job, feels the need to ask those who can give directions. And Taylor Swift was deemed able to answer her question.

I'm having a hard time getting out of this creative habit. I thought, 'Who should I ask about songwriting? That's Taylor Swift.' I thought, 'What would you say if you had a lot of doubts about yourself and felt like a dead end?', Cabello said.

That's when Swift said the wise words that changed the view of the Havana' singer forever.

"I don't even know if he remembers this. It's been a long time. He said, 'When it happened to me, (theaya) had to keep writing it down. You have to keep going, keep writing it down'," Cabello said.

When you feel the sound of doubt for yourself, just go ahead. You'll find yourself on the other side.

Previously, Cabello also talked about his friendship with Swift since his first meeting. In fact, he was once the opening performer for Taylor Swift's Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018.

I've been a big fan of Taylor Swift since I was 13 years old. I really know all the songs. She was one of those people who really inspired me to start writing songs, "concluded Camila Cabello.
