The Czech First Ammunition Send Arrived In Ukraine, Containing Tens Of Thousands Of Artillery Bullets

JAKARTA - The first ammunition shipment of the Czech initiative arrived in Ukraine, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said.

The Czech Republic is leading efforts to purchase ammunition, with funding from NATO allies, to cover shortages at the forefront with Russia.

"The first ammunition shipment from our initiative arrived in Ukraine some time ago," Fiala said on X. "We did what was necessary," he said.

The Czechs said in May, as many as 50,000 to 100,000 first artillery shells would arrive in Ukraine in June.

The Czechs have payment of around 1.7 billion euros or a definite commitment from 15 donor countries, which is sufficient for half a million artillery shells to be delivered to Ukraine by the end of this year.

About 20 countries have pledged to take part in the Czech initiative, but only five have made payments at the end of May namely Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal and Canada.
