Construction Of Memorial Park IKN Targeted To Be Completed August 16, 2024
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono as well as Acting Head of the State Capital Authority (OIKN) targets the construction of the Memorial Park IKN to be completed on August 16, 2024.
Basuki said the progress of the Memorial Park structure work had reached 40 percent, a 61 percent statue work, 50 percent Bukit Flag structure work and 50 percent flagpole work progress and Beranda Nusantara physical work reaching 65 percent. "(This) was completed one day before the celebration of the 79th Anniversary ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia which was held in a hybrid manner at IKN and Jakarta," Basuki said in his official statement, Monday, June 24. Basuki asked for the transfer of Memorial Park to be carried out immediately.
"I ask to start planting, don't wait for the work to finish so that it looks alive. I ask that mid-July be neat, what kind of ambience looks like," he said.Memorial Park IKN was built by Nindya Karya-Penta KSO at a cost of Rp335 billion.
The Memorial Park area has an area of 2,034 square meters, consisting of an altar area of 1,690 square meters and a 344 square meter ladder access and equipped with road and landscape infrastructure. "The Memorial Park open area can accommodate 1,000 people," he said. According to Basuki, Memorial Park was built as a form of respect for the founding heroes of the nation who have freed Indonesia.

The development of Memorial Park will be integrated with the Beranda Nusantara area which will be the point of view at IKN which is able to attract the attention of the public and state guests who visit IKN. "This memorandum of Park will also complement the various facilities that have been built at IKN, including to prepare for the commemoration ceremony of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia in August 2024," he said. The plan, Beranda Nusantara will be used as the location for the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony if it rains.
Therefore, Basuki asked to speed up the completion of Beranda Nusantara. "I ask to speed it up, add more workers. On the second week of July I hope it's finished," he added.
